It’s easy to get stuck in destructive habits and patterns that once were useful to us but have since become counterproductive. Bethanie can help you identify these emotional patterns and make the right adjustments to reach your goals.

About Bethanie Langloss, LISW

Each of us has an inner voice to guide us, and yet at times we all need support and compassion to help us get “unstuck” when life gets us tangled. I’m passionate about empowering others on their personal journeys, whether that involves gaining new insights, healing from trauma, living a value-driven life, or just learning how to be okay in a world that is arguably not okay. I believe that there is incredible power in being heard without judgment, and that when we create a safe space to tell our story, we are better able to access our unique strengths to help us overcome life’s challenges.

My areas of interest include addressing mood and anxiety concerns, trauma, relationship and family conflict, self-esteem and identity concerns, and difficult life transitions. I also have experience working with survivors of domestic violence. I have a particular passion for helping others to prioritize themselves and develop a self-compassionate inner voice. I’m trained in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I received my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa and have been independently licensed since 2015.

I’m available from Monday-Thursday for office appointments in the Ames office, as well as for telehealth appointments. I offer appointments during the morning and afternoon, and over the noon hour. I work with adults and teenagers (ages 16+).
